Breeding and Sales
We recently had the opportunity to purchase a fabulous buckskin stallion, ERL Buck N Velvet, sired by Little Kings Black Velvet out of a Lucky Four mare. My heart has always belonged to the beautiful colors of buckskin and to the accompanying bloodlines of Buckeroo. He's been here now since June and is everything we had hoped he'd be. More pictures and pedigree on the Stallions page.
On Oct 8th, we welcomed another buckskin stallion .. one that I fell in love with a few years ago. "Weeokies Treasure Lode" is now part of our little family. "Lodie" is Regional Top 10, Honor Roll, earning the accolades in Solid Color Stallions. He is sired by Weeokie's IMA BTU Treasure of Turu (IMA Boones Little Buckeroo Too) out of Weeokies Foxy Farris.
While the bloodlines are similar on the sire's side, "Lodie" is Komoko, Vant Huttenest and Dell Teras on his dams side while "Velvet" is Richters Apache.
Of course, we still have our beloved Fairway Farms Starfire, aka "Boomer" (Dell Teras/Ohio bloodlines) and Mochas CC Cherokee Goldstryke aka"Stryker" (Arista's Choctaw Charlie x NFCS Cherokee Maiden), Rowdy, Roan Ranger lines.
That's FOUR great stallions to choose from for your great little mare!
Weeokie's Treasure Lode AMHA/R 30"
Nestled in the northeastern corner of Vermont, aptly referred to as the "Northeast Kingdom" you'll find NORTHEAST KINGDOM MINIATURES (NEK) horses. We are a small, family farm on the banks of the Lamoille River. Our small size allows us to spend oodles of time with our minis and they are all well adjusted, happy, productive members of the 'family.'
Our first mini arrived from Virginia in 2001...then they just seemed to keep coming. From North Carolina, Vermont, Pennsylvania, New Hampsire and Texas and Massachusetts. Our mares and stallions represent some of the best the breed has to offer....Hemlock Brooks, Buckeroo, Orion, Bond, Komoko, Gold Melody Boy and Rowdy to name a few. Pedigrees are listed throughout our website. All of our minis are AMHA/R, AMHR or AMHA. Some are parent qualified.
Our horses are out and about - we show during the short summer season and enjoy the interaction with other horse folk in the area. We're out driving 3 or 4 evenings a week, weather permitting, enjoying the quiet of back roads and trails and the beautiful scenery of the area. Our horses participate in local affairs such as parades and other events. Friends and neighbors stop frequently to watch our horses play and anxiously await the arrival of each new foal. Visitors stop to admire and ask questions about our little horses and we love to talk to them about these little guys. We can occasionally they can be found cooling off at nearby Caspian Lake much to the delight of both children and adults. Now that we have three of them driving, we are confidently moving in the direction we had hoped. We welcome your comments about our horses and this website and look forward to seeing you in the show ring, on the trail...or in the lake!
Please sign our guestbook and thanks for visiting.
